According to the No Kid Hunger organization, the average percentage of all states that currently have children under 18 living in households suffering from food insecurity is 17.9%.
Meanwhile, 23% of that 17% of nationwide percentage reside in the capital area of our nation. There are more starving children in the capital area more than the nationwide rate of children in food-insecure situations.
In these troubled times of the COVID-19 crisis, children are left to fend food for themselves through the invisible enemy surrounding them.
Their only source of food before was their school meals but now has been taken away by school closures in order to minimize the risk of spreading the virus in schools.
By donating, we can help minimize the children's risk of getting infected by the virus by feeding them healthy meals that will boost their immune system. This will also minimize them from moving around the area to look for food that will increase their chances of getting the virus.
By taking action in the form of donations, the Capital Area Food Bank will do anything in their power to keep children healthy. You can donate now to change the lives of these children.
